Dorel Juvenile Group manufactures these car seats for under the Cosco brand. You should check out their web site. Check out the recall notices and make sure your seat is not listed. Register your car seat so that you are informed of any future recalls. There does not seem to be any Manuals on their website, but they do list a phone number. 1-800-544-1108When I took mine apart I did the following. Take many pictures of it first so you can see how it goes back together. Put all of the parts in a container so you don't lose any. Start by removing the screws on the headrests. There are four of them. Using a flat screwdriver on the left side and a pair of pliers on the right (as you are facing it) pull the metal rod from the hinge to the right. Make sure you don't damage the springs. The screwdriver can be used to gently pry the square metal strap anchor from the plastic holder. It is tight! Then fish the anchor through the seat and fabric. The shoulder straps have to go from the front through the fabric. There is a front clip that is located between the child's legs. I had to finesse the fabric cover around this. I think that is all I did. We washed the cover in COLD water on delicate and soaked it overnight to get it clean. Hang dry!
